JAKARTA: Asuransi Central Asia (ACA) target acquisition premiums amounted to Rp1, 8 trillion by the end of this year along with the strengthening of cooperation with the banking company.
ACA Director Muljadi Kusuma said the acquisition premium company already reached 60% of the target as of August 31, 2010.
He said 10% of the premium is the contribution of collaboration products company with banks (bancassurance ).
“Insurance premiums tend to rise at the end of the quarter, due to maturing policyholders at the end of the year and the customer must pay the premiums anymore,” he said, when met at the launch of DB Care insurance products, today.
Muljadi said it was optimistic that the acquisition premium Islamic insurance business unit of ACA at the end of this year reached Rp17 billion. “As of August 31, 2010, the acquisition premium sharia business unit reached 10 billion, so we are confident it can meet the target premium,” he said.
He claimed it would develop bancasurrance by cooperating with Islamic banks. However, today it is still evaluating the products suitable for sale by Islamic banks.
According to him, sharia business unit is believed the company would grow, although considered still constrained due to the new operation.
He said it has cooperated with a number of Islamic banks to market their products bancasurrance plan, it will add 6000 agents sharia business unit within the next 2 years.
Muljadi said it plans to increase the capital of Islamic insurance business units in order to fulfill the Bapepam-LK for Islamic insurance minimum capital of Rp25 billion by the end of this year. He said he pleaded not plan to raise capital for the conventional insurance companies.
