Jakarta, (10/11). International Standard of Islamic Banking practice has been stated by the Director of syariah Directorate of Bank Indonesia which is in line with Islamic banker’s idea. It is imperative to have International standard for Islamic banking practice, which cater the competitiveness of our national banking with foreign banking system.
As explained by Farouk Alwyni International Banking and FI Director of Bank Muamalat and Riyanto, President Director of Bank Bukopin Syariah (BSB).
Moreover Farouk said that for the preparations, BMI is improving its products and services of its international Banking Division, BMI has issued sukuk to cater the need of global investor, “ therefore we must maintain our service quality to be inline International banking practice”, said Farouk.
The idea of International standard for Indonesian Banking practice should be implemented by every Islamic full-fledge banks, especially in this tight global competition in banking system, which must be supported with the best quality of shariah human capital as well.
In the meantime, Riyanto envision that in so far the Islamic banking system in Indonesia has been using international standard in term of Products, services, and ICT “ I perceived that our Islamic banking system is already has International Standard, no need to worry about International standard”, said Riyanto.
In respond to Mulya E Siregar statement, Riyanto opined that International standard of Islamic banks is to be seen from the size and the equity, and how much capital it has to expand the business, as long as it is large in size and equity it can be considered international standard, and “I believe that what international standard meant”, exclaimed Riyanto.
