Pegadaian Gets Rp350 Billion Loan from Syariah Mandiri

Theindonesiatoday.com - State pawnshop operator Perum Pegadaian had on Friday (April 8) obtained loan of Rp350 billion provided by PT Bank Syariah Mandiri (BSM) for strengthening the financing, Bisnis Indonesia reported this morning.

Hanawijaya, BSM's director, said BSM will also provide another Rp200 billion loan for Pegadaian in the second half of this year. BSM has granted loan to Pegadaian for four times since 2007.

Suwhono, Pegadaian's president director, said BSM's loan will be only used to fund the financing of Pegadaian's syariah unit expansion. He said BSM's loan to Pegadaian reached Rp3 trillion as of early April 2011. (full story)


Pegadaian booked net profit of Rp1.18 trillion in 2010, surged 48% from Rp788.19 billion in 2009, on higher revenue.

It booked revenue of Rp5.38 trillion, increased 34% from Rp4.02 trillion in previous year, of which revenue of capital leases totaled Rp4.89 trillion.

As of December 31, 2010, Pegadaian's assets totaled Rp20.28 trillion while liability amounted Rp4.41 trillion. ( hans@theindonesiatoday.com)
