INDONESIA - BANKING - Muamalat Profit Soars 135% in First Half
Theindonesiatoday.com - Indonesia's largest shariah bank Muamalat booked net profit of Rp189.9 billion in the first half of 2011, soared 135% from the same period last year.
According to financial statement published this morning, Muamalat's operating profit surged to Rp182 billion from Rp81 billion in the first half of 2010. (source)
The bank had total assets of Rp23.7 trillion as of June 30, 2011, surged 53.8% from June 2010. The bank's capital adequacy ratio (CAR) to market and credit risks reached 11.57%, improved from 10% in June 2010.
The bank's shareholders have reportedly decided to postpone divestment of their shares in the bank on low bids. (Theindonesiatoday.com)
