INDONESIA - EDUCATION - Islamic Banking is still difficulty HR

www.investor.co.id - JAKARTA - Islamic banks face challenges in order to grow, especially in human resource difficulties.
"The market share of Islamic banks in Indonesia is still small, amounting to about 4 percent. Problem, our network is not as much as a conventional bank and available human resources is still very little," said Director of Business BNI Syariah Bambang Widjanarko here on Thursday.
Difficulty in meeting the HR needs of Islamic banks is also highlighted by the Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia Halim Alamsyah in the opening of a national consensus Indonesia Sharia Bank Association on Wednesday (21/3).  (source)

Halim said that no matter how advanced and complete equipment, remains an important element of banking is dominated by a qualified human resources, the limitations are even led to hijack another bank worker who has expertise in the field of Islamic finance.
"Opening a branch but it is easier to prepare human resources to run the branch Islamic banks will need time and training, especially in the leadership ranks that requires experience, it's a challenge for Islamic banks," said Bambang.
However, Bambang believes that the public interest to save money and ask for financing in Islamic banks is large enough.
"Customers get a lot of savings on products and loyal because most features as well as service capabilities with a conventional bank, BNI Syariah targeted funding increases to 30 percent this year," said Bambang.
According to data, low-cost funds (savings and current accounts) BNI Syariah grew by 39.38 percent to Rp3, 51 billion from the position of Rp2, 51 billion in 2010.
"There are selecting Islamic banks because of their beliefs, there is also because of a mathematical calculation, which we describe is transparent Islamic banks, particularly regarding income as a basis for the results to our customers so if the income of the bank for the results to its customers too big," said Bambang.
Another way to further promote Islamic banks according to Bambang is by working with religious organizations such as Muhammadiyah.
On December 2011, BNI Syariah along with six other Islamic banks signed a memorandum of understanding with the Muhammadiyah, so the seven banks to provide banking services to the citizens of Muhammadiyah.
"The most commonly needed services 'cash management' both in schools and hospitals," said Bambang. (Tk / ant)

(tk/ant)
