JAKARTA - Bank Indonesia (BI) estimates money demand during the fasting period of Ramadan and Lebaran in 2011 amounting to Rp61, 36 trillion, an increase of Rp 6, 57 trillion, about 12% over the previous year realization of the need for Rp54, 78 trillion.
BI Deputy Governor Ardhayadi Mitroatmodjo here on Thursday said to meet that need, then the Bank has prepared a national inventory of cash until the end of July for Rp123, 39 trillion, consisting of large denominations of money Rp106, 86 trillion and the money of small denominations Rp16, 53 trillion.
