INDONESIA - BANKING - ISLAMIC BANK: Financing agricultural microenterprises no maximum

www.bisnis.com - JAKARTA: Interest in micro-businesses that utilize the funds KUM3 Muamalat to work on agriculture and livestock sector is low. This is related to government policies that do not support the two sectors.
"If agriculture, livestock and plantations would forward the development strategy should be changed. The government should provide incentives and price guarantees to help communities provide food needs from within their own country," said Arifin Arviyan, President Director of Bank Muamalat, today January 26, 2012.
Arviyan was deeply concerned with the circulation of vegetables, fruits, table salt to which all imported products whereas micro-enterprises in Indonesia can supply the needs of the country. (source)

INDONESIA - HALAL - 80 Qurban Managements Received Technical Trainings

beritajakarta.com - Together with Indonesia Ulema Council (MUI) and Medicine Faculty of Bogor Agriculture Institute (IPB), East Jakarta Livestock and Fishery Sub-Department gives technical trainings about how to slaughter cattle and handle qurban meat to 80 qurban managements from 40 mosques in East Jakarta. This activity is held in Agriculture Pusdiklat building at Kebon Singkong, Duren Sawit, Tuesday (10/25). In that occasion, East Jakarta Livestock and Fishery Sub-Department also gives donations in form of 40 tarps and 80 carving knifes. (source)

INDONESIA - HALAL - Bogor hosts fair to increase Halal awareness in Indonesia

Living up to its reputation as the first halal city in Indonesia, Bogor is currently holding a Halal Fair aimed at promoting halal food produced in line with the specific guidelines outlined in Islamic law.

The three-day festival, which was launched yesterday (June 27) and runs till tomorrow, is participated by 55 small- and medium-scale enterprises. (source)
