PT Bank Maybank Indocorp announced on Friday it has formally changed its name to PT Bank Maybank Syariah Indonesia, following the change of the bank's core business to syariah-based business.
Maybank said earlier that the decision to convert the bank's business activities from conventional banking to syariah banking was undertaken in order to tap the vast and growing business potential of syariah banking in Indonesia.PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Riau, or BPD Riau or PT Bank Riau, also changed its name to PT BPD Riau Kepri or PT Bank Riau Kepri.
