Theindonesiatoday.com - PT Bank Syariah Mandiri (BSM) posted net profit of Rp418.52 billion last year, increased 43.85% compared to Rp290.94 billion in previous year, detikfinance.com reported.
Yuslam Fauzi, BSM's president director, said the profit growth was mainly supported by operating income. BSM booked income from funds distribution of Rp3.45 trillion, rose 38.55% compared to Rp2.49 trillion in 2009.
Meanwhile, BSM's disbursed financing totaled Rp23.97 trillion last year, grew by 49.21% from Rp16.06 trillion a year earlier.(full story)
The bank's third party funds also increased 49.96% to Rp29 trillion from previous Rp19.34 trillion, then boosted its assets to Rp32.48 trillion from earlier Rp22.04 trillion.
BSM's capital adequacy ratio (CAR) stood at 10.6% per December 2010, lower than 12.39% in 2009. But the bank's CAR had reached 12% in March 2011 after obtaining capital injection of Rp200 billion from holding company PT Bank Mandiri Tbk (BMRI). ( hans@theindonesiatoday.com)
