RATINGS - Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk.

PEFINDO affirmed the idAA” rating to PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBNI or the Bank)’s Bond I/2003 amounting to IDR 1.0 trillion due on July 10, 2011.  The Company’s readiness to repay its maturing Bond is supported by its large cash and cash equivalent balance, which at end of 2010 amounted to IDR20.4 trillion.  In addition, BBNI also has secondary reserve in the form of money market placements of IDR38.4 trillion. The Bank offers complete banking services including corporate banking, commercial banking, international banking and treasury, consumer banking, sharia banking. It also provides other financial services through its insurance, security brokerage, and multi-finance subsidiaries.  At the end of 2010, the Bank has an office network of 1,153 offices and 5,004 ATMs all over Indonesia, as well as 5 overseas branches.  To support its daily banking activities, the Bank employs around 19,315 staffs.  In November 2010, BBNI had a rights issue to strengthen its capital base.  Subsequently, the ownership structure of the Bank changed.  At the end of 2010, Government of Indonesia had 60.0% ownership of the Bank while the remaining 40.0% was held by the public.
