CAPITAL MARKETS - Bank Syariah Mandiri to issue IDR200 billion Islamic subdebt

JAKARTA: PT Bank Syariah Mandiri plans to issue a subordinated sharia bond worth IDR200 billion at minimum. The plan serves as an alternative to add capital besides capital injection by the parent company.

President Director of PT Bank Syariah Mandiri (BSM) Yuslam Fauzi said that subdebt will be released is PT Bank Mandiri Tbk, the parent company, does not meet all capital requirement along the year. (full story)


Yuslam admits he still cannot project total sukuk to be released, yet assuring the value will not be below IDR200 billion considering the expensive issuance fee.

This year the biggest Indonesia's sharia bank by assets requires capital of IDR210 billion, more than targeted. (NOM)
