Jakarta, (13/6) the Security commission of Indonesia or Badan Pengawas Pasar Modal and Lembaga Keuangan (Bapepam-LK) has produced a new SOP in related to securities companies brokerage licensing. This regulation is a revised version under the No. of V.B.1. This revision is done in line with the growing no of brokerage companies, which has been applied for the license as explained by the Head of the Transaction Biro of the Securities M. Noor Rachman at Bapepam-LK. (source)
There are 5.588 brokarage companies as of 2010, and now there are 5.901 brokerage companies, and there were 1.718 brokerages that has been applied for the license in 2010 and there were 30 more brokerages that applied for the lisence as of Mei 2011.
Furthermore M. Noor Rachman said that the reason behind the revision of the licensing procedure is to cater the need of the competency of the profesionalism in human capital in this industry, as to be more efficient, and to robust the credibility and the quality of the capital market education program which will be recognized by the soceity, capital market players and Bapepam-LK.
Moreover, Noor Rachman said that the revision to be inline and equivalent to the profession certification and capital market certification which recognized by Bapepam-LK.
