In an email interview, TAIB said it sees the "potential for growth in corporate customers" in Temburong and affirmed that there is positive development in the district's SME sector.
TAIB is also looking to further educate Temburong residents on the benefits of Islamic finance. It said knowledge of Islamic finance is not widespread in this district and will be conducting various events including financial talks to boost understanding of this sector.
The move to offer daily services instead of weekly services will also help TAIB strengthen its market presence with the added service of Automated Teller Machines (ATM) which will be available soon, the organisation said in a previous report.
Although the branch first opened in 2007, its staff would only travel to Temburong once a week on Thursdays, except for pay day, whereby the branch would be advised on the specific date before sending its staff to the district. The branch is now manned by TAIB staff residing in Temburong, "making it more convenient for them", added TAIB.
The branch was officially relaunched on July 7 by Minister of Communications cum Chairman of Perbadanan TAIB Pehin Orang Kaya Hamzah Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Hj Abdullah Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka Hj Bakar. The Brunei Times
