Jakarta (6/10) Pengembangan Koperasi Jasa Keuangan Syariah (KJKS) di Indonesia memiliki kontribusi besar dalam pengembangan perekonomian bangsa. Terbukti berdasarkan data Pusat Inkubasi Bisnis Usaha Kecil dan Menengah (PINBUK) menyebutkan jika total aset BMT di tahun 2010 telah capai Rp 4 triliun.  Sementara nasabah yang telah terlayani mencapai 3 juta orang.

Dengan jumlah aset tersebut diperkirakan ada 3900 BMT yang beroperasi dan tersebar diseluruh masyarakat.

Ketua II Perhimpunan BMT Indonesia,  Awalil Rizki menuturkan, keberadaan koperasi merupakan bukti konkrit jika lembaga koperasi harus dipertahankan. Sejak awal BMT telah memilih koperasi sebagai badan hukumnya.

"Apa yang telah disampaikan oleh PINBUK bahwa koperasi syariah memilki kontribusi besar dalam pengembangan ekomomi,"ucapnya.

Kemudian terkait dengan perubahan undang undang koperasi, Awalil menegaskan, harus ada Departemen yang mengurusi koperasi, bukan sekedar kementerian. Alasannya, hal ini terkait dengan soal bantuan dan peran pemerintah dalam membangkitkan gerakan koperasi. (Agus Y)
