INDONESIA - BANKING - Islamic Banks Switch Gold Pawning to Consumer, Micro Financing

JAKARTA (IFT) - Islamic banks plan to switch the gold pawn business portfolio to retail consumption financing and microfinance, according to Islamic banker. This strategy is to anticipate the decline in gold pawning business, post-imposition of the new sharia regulation from Bank Indonesia. (source)
