www.thejakartaglobe.com - Indonesia’s central bank on Monday announced major director-level personnel change, with some officials promoted as others entered their retirement stage.
It was the first set of major management changes at Bank Indonesia (BI) since December 2011, when Ronald Waas and Muliaman Hadad were named deputy governors. Bank Indonesia spokesman Difi Johansyah said late on Monday that it was just a routine restructuring.
“It’s for the sake of regeneration,” Difi told reporters late on Monday. Difi said the promotions and rotations would be effective on March 1. (source)
Among officials involved in the rotations is Wimboh Santoso, who will move from his position as director of banking research and regulation to head BI’s US office in New York. Filling Wimboh’s job is Mulya Effendi Siregar, now BI’s director of Islamic banking.
Eddy Setiadi, the current director of rural credit and small and medium enterprises, will take over for Mulya. Both Wimboh and Mulya are among candidates to become commissioner at the Financial Services Supervisory Authority (OJK), the new superbody that would supervise financial systems including banking, insurance, capital markets and pension funds.
BI also named as its human resources director Dyah Nastiti K. Makhijani, the current strategic planning and public relations director. Dyah’s old post will be filled by Dody Budi Waluyo, the current head of the international directorate.
The central bank also moved Adie Soesetyantoro to its banking supervision division, replacing Boedi Armanto. Boedi was promoted to director of accounting and payment systems.
Heru Kristyana, the current director of the Directorate of Banking Supervision I, will switch to the same position at the Directorate of Banking Supervision III.
Mokhammad Dakhlan, director of money circulation, will become director of the Center for Central Banking Studies. Ramlan Ginting, the current head of BI’s Manado office, will join Dakhlan in that post.
Apart from rotations and promotions at the directors level, BI also rotated 34 bureau heads, who operate below the directors.
