INDONESIA - BANKING - Albaraka Aims Bank in Indonesia, Bahrain Islamic Bank Funds Prepare 100 Million U.S. Dollars

Yousuf still reluctant to reveal the name of the bank's business expansion target of Al Baraka. However, to get these shares, Al Baraka plans to invest 100 million U.S. dollars.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MANAMA - Bank syariah yang berbasis di Bahrain, Al Baraka Banking Group menargetkan pertumbuhan laba 15 persen tahun ini. Selain itu, bank tersebut akan berekspansi bisnis dengan membeli 75 persen saham bank dari Indonesia yang tidak terdaftar di bursa.

"Kami dalam pembicaraan dengan pemegang saham dari Cina yang memiliki saham sebuah bank di Indonesia, mengharapkan bisa membeli hingga 75 persen saham tahun ini," ujar pimpinan eksekutif Al Baraka, Adnan Ahmad Yousuf, seperti dikutip Reuters, Senin (5/3).

Yousuf masih enggan membeberkan nama bank yang menjadi target ekspansi bisnis Al Baraka. Namun, untuk mendapatkan saham tersebut, Al Baraka berencana menginvestasikan dana hingga 100 juta dolar AS.

Al Baraka telah beroperasi di 15 negara, termasuk Turki, Suriah, dan Mesir. Bank tersebut membukukan laba hingga 212 juta dolar AS pada 2011. Laba ini naik 10 persen dari tahun sebelumnya yang mencapai 193 juta dolar AS.

Total aset bank tersebut naik 8 persen dari 16 miliar dolar AS pada 2010 menjadi 17,2 miliar dolar AS pada akhir 2011. Dana Pihak Ketiga naik 8 persen menjadi 14,7 miliar dolar AS.

Al Baraka berencana membuka 50 kantor cabang di seluruh dunia tahun ini. Dari jumlah itu, 20 di antaranya akan dibangun di Turki dan 5 lainnya berada di Aljazair dan Mesir. "Kami ingin fokus di Turki, Indonesia, dan Afrika Utara tahun ini. Kami sudah memiliki kantor perwakilan di Indonesia," ujar Yousuf.

Yousuf mengatakan Al Baraka juga berencana menerbitkan sukuk senilai 300 juta dolar AS tahun ini. Namun, penerbitan ini masih menunggu momentum tepat untuk mendapatkan pasar.

Setelah penerbitan tersebut, Al Baraka berencana menerbitkan sukuk lanjutan senilai 200 juta dolar AS, setelah sebelumnya sempat tertunda pada Desember lantaran adanya persoalan mengenai harga penjualan.
