INDONESIA - BANKING - Foreign Workers Disallowed to be CEO at Indonesian Firms

www.theindonesiatoday.com - Foreign workers are disallowed to post as chief executive officer (CEO) at the Indonesian companies, said minister of manpower and transmigration Muhaimin Iskandar.

The minister said his ministry had in February 29, 2012 signed the decree of manpower and transmigration ministry No 40 year 2012 concerning the certain positions of foreign workers at the country's firms. (source)

INDONESIA - BANKING - Alhamdullilah Growth of Islamic Banking in South Sumatra Rapid

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PALEMBANG - Islamic banking in recent years has grown dramatically. In South Sumatra, the growth of Islamic bank assets relatively rapidly during 2011. Growth up to November 2011 recorded a 59.75 per cent compared to the end of 2010.

According to Bank Indonesia (BI), assets of Islamic banks in November 2011 reached Rp 3.45 trillion. This value is an increase over 2010, amounting to Rp 2.16 trillion. Enhancement of these assets contributed from the increased office network of 429 offices of Islamic banks in 2010 to 475 offices in 2011. The number of Islamic banks to open branches in South Sumatra was increased from the previous bank only eight to nine banks in 2011.  (source)

TAKAFUL - Takaful celebrate its anniversary with healthy walk program

Jakarta, (3/11). in lined with its 16th anniversary celebration PT Takaful Indonesia is conducting a healthy walk. They were 1200 participants of takaful employees and their families, last Sunday morning, October 31, 2010. Started at Arthaloka building Jl. Sudirman Jakarta and walking route was to Jl. Thamrin, Sarinah Dept. Store and back to Arthaloka building.

This event is in conjunction with the family gathering of Takaful Indonesia and witnessed by the Board of Commissioners, Board of Directors and shariah board of Takaful Indonesia, which is also the chairman of Baznaz. They were a live music performance by  Haddad Alwi, Vita and Anti.
