MEDAN: The total assets of Bank Sumut Syariah (BSS) last year increased by 80% to IDR826 billion, compared to IDR421 billion in 2009. President Director Bank Sumut Gus Irawan Pasaribu said that the increase was in line with the growth in third party’s fund and the market share of Bank Sumut Syariah to Bank Sumut conventional. “The increase in people’s fund and the total assets of Bank Syariah Sumut is far beyond expectation. It shows that the transaction through Bank Syariah Sumut has increased significantly,” he said last weekend.
In 2005, according to him, Bank Syariah Sumut could generate third party’s fund not more than IDR15.12 billion and by the end of 2010, it jumped to IDR431.57 billion, while total assets surged to IDR826 billion from IDR50 billion. (t04/wiw)
