The IIUM International Accounting Conference V provides an avenue for the critical and objective examination of the link between Islam, Accounting and Finance in accommodating the demands and opportunities as a result of the changes in economic, political and social climates in which accounting and finance operates. More importantly, the conference’s theme highlights challenges and opportunities due to the recent developments in accounting and finance research. (source)
In light of the development discussed in accounting and finance research and demands for Islamic based accounting and finance, it is therefore imperative to continue in exploring these challenges and opportunities. The importance of Islam in everyday life creates a need for a better understanding of the relationship between Islam, Accounting and Finance in order to enhance accountability, governance and performance. Hence this conference promotes research culture and dissemination of contemporary findings in Islamic Accounting and Finance.
