Kuala Lumpur (ANTARA News) - Jakarta will host the Third Muslim World Biz, the largest business exhibition of Muslim countries, in 2012.
"Tomorrow, Kadin (Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry) and OIC (Organization of the Islamic Conference) will sign documents on the staging of the Third Muslim World Biz expo in Jakarta in 2012," Eddy Kuntadi, chairman of Kadin`s Jakarta chapter, said here Wednesday.

"We are making preparations, and 40 days after this expo (the Second Muslim World Biz), we will decide the location (for the next expo), it could be at the Jakarta Convention Hall and President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is expected to inaugurate it," he said.
Dato Dr Raja Mohamad Abdullah, chairman of the second Muslim World Biz organizing committee, confirmed that next year`s expo will be held in Jakarta.
"Thursday morning (June 9), we will sign a memorandum of understanding with the Jakarta chapter of Kadin on the holding of the expo in Jakarta next year," Dato Raja said.
Eddy hoped that next year`s expo in Jakarta will attract more participants given the fact that Indonesia has the world`s largest Muslim population. The country`s population is currently around 237 million, the fourth largest after China, India and the USA.
"In addition to promotion and investment, the exhibition will also provide networking opportunities to businessmen from OIC member countries ," he said.
He hoped the Muslim World Biz 2012 would also encourage Indonesian businessmen to enter OIC member countries` markets.
The Second World Muslim Biz being held in Kuala Lumpur from June 8 to 11, 2011, is expected to draw greater interest from both local and international trade communities, especially those in OIC`s 57 member countries.
Accommodating over 500 booths occupied by international and local exhibitors, the event is expected to attract more than 50,000 visitors. (T.SYS/A/F001/F001)
