Jakarta (27/10) - Gold now it is showing "sheen". Proven practices rahn gold or gold pawn is mostly done by banks, Islamic banking is no exception. Data Bank Indonesia (BI) showed outstanding gold rahn committed Islamic banks until the end of August 2011 reached Rp 5 trillion. That number grew to Rp 4 trillion in just two months from July 2011 to reach USD 1 trillion.
BI deputy governor Halim Alamsyah said the practice rahn gold with the principle of margin does have a greater return so as to accelerate the pace of Islamic banks. However, it should be observed, increasing gold rahn will certainly reduce the share of products for the results. And as it is known principle of profit sharing is the spirit of Islamic banking. BI recorded the activity of Islamic banking is still the dominant use, especially with murabaha margin reached 54.1%. While the use prisnsip for results such as mudaraba and musharaka only 29%.
"The principle of sharing is the spirit of Islamic banking. But the portion of profit-sharing only 29 percent, "he said in the seminar in the Economic Community of Sharia in the BNI Tower, Jakarta, Wednesday (26/10).
Therefore, Halim calls for Islamic banks to limit the practice of pawning gold and improve products for the results. Especially now pawning gold has become a commodity speculation and thus has many risks.
"Gold is now a commodity speculators. Therefore basically Islamic banks are facing a risk, what more when gold prices fell. Now the important how-product prosuk sharing can thrive, "he said. (ul)
BI : Batasi Rahn Emas, Tingkatkan Produk Bagi Hasil
Jakarta
(27/10)- Emas saat ini memang sedang menunjukkan “kemilaunya”. Terbukti
Deputi Gubernur BI, Halim Alamsyah mengatakan praktek rahn emas
sehingga mempercepat laju bank syariah. Namun perlu dicermati,
resiko.
“Emas sekarang menjadi komoditas spekulan. Oleh karena itu pada
dasarnya bank syariah sedang menghadapi resiko, apa lagi ketika harga
emas turun. Sekarang yang penting bagaimana prosuk-produk bagi hasil
dapat berkembang pesat,” tandasnya. (ul)
