www.bisnis.com - JAKARTA: PT Bank Mega Syariah, a subsidiary of PT Bank Mega Tbk, earned
net profit of IDR119 billion in the period from January to June 2012,
increased more than three folds compared with the previous year of
IDR39.45 billion.
Beny Witjaksono, Managing Director of Bank Mega Syariah (BMS), said the
increase in profits sustained by the expansion of funding and effective
liquidity management so that the cost of funds can be suppressed.
"We have a strategy to hold the funding sources by keeping financing to
deposit ratio/intermediation ratio[FDR] at 90% - 92%. It makes our
profit grow well compared with last year when the FDR was at 80%," he

Effective management of funds can be seen from the number of third
party funds of Bank Mega Syariah which was relatively not grow during
the first half compared with the end of 2011. At the end of June, the
third party funds was IDR5.02 trillion.
The amount of third party funds is still capable of supporting
expansion of financing business which successfully reached IDR4.57
trillion. Financing of the bank increased approximately 12.5% compared
to the end of 2011, which recorded IDR4 trillion.
"The increase occurred fairly in micro financing, joint financing &
pawning in gold and motorcycle. Total portfolio of micro-financing and
pawning reached IDR3.7 trillion, or about 80% of the total financing,"
