INDONESIA - TAKAFUL - Syariah Mandiri premium AXA Reaches USD 283 Billion

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Premiums Islamic products until September 2011 AXA Mandiri to Rp 283 billion. This achievement which edged up 1.3 percent compared to September 2010 which reached USD 250 billion.
Contribution of Islamic products this year is relatively small compared to the total premiums of AXA Mandiri as of September 2011 which reached Rp 3.7 trillion. In fact, according to Director of AXA Mandiri, Iwan Pasila, the contribution of Islamic products last year reached 15 percent. (source)

INDONESIA - TAKAFUL - CIMB Niaga to Offer Shariah Product

Bank CIMB Niaga, the country’s fifth largest lender by assets, will grow in the coming years by tapping into the underinsured population in the region’s largest economy, an executive has said.

“At the moment, the insurance business contributes only about 7 percent to 8 percent of the total fee-based income at CIMB Niaga,” said Akhiz Nasution, head of insurance at the bank.  (source)

INDONESIA - FINANCE - Bank Syariah Bukopin enters into cooperation agreement with Indosat

Jakarta (20 / 7). To support an online telecom operations in the BSB branch offices throughout Indonesia PT Bank Syariah Bukopin (BSB) carry out the signing of the Cooperation Agreement (MCC) with PT Indosat Tbk (Indosat). With the signing of the agreement, both companies will equally benefit.

INDONESIA - BANKING - BCA and NU sign cooperation

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) and the Executive Board of the NU (NU), signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in education, health, and cooperatives.
The MOU was signed conducted between President John Setiaatmadja BCA Director and Chairman of the Board NU KH Said Agil Siraj here on Thursday.
John Setiaatmadja said, a memorandum of understanding that exists between the BCA with PNU is expected to provide added value for BCA banking services to customers, partners and society BCA including  members of the NU. (source)
