www.theindonesiatoday.com - JAKARTA, Indonesia Today - PT Bank BNI Syariah booked net profit of Rp89.26 billion in 2011, expects to book profit of Rp73 billion in 2011, surged 143% Rp36.7 billion in previous year.
Operating income jumped 126% to Rp1.01 trillion from Rp447.9 billion in 2010, of which income from financing accounted for Rp786.64 billion. (source)
Bambang Widjanarko, business director of BNI Syariah, earlier said the profit growth was mainly supported by margin from financing, internal management and investment.
He said the bank's realized financing totaled Rp5.31 trillion last year, jumped 49.15% from Rp3.56 trillion in 2010.
Of total financing, 80% was distributed to consumer and micro and small-medium business sectors while the rest 20% was channeled to commercial sector.
As of December 2011, BNI Syariah's assets totaled Rp8.47 trillion, of which Murabahah claims reached Rp5.24 trillion.
Currently BNI Syariah has 81 offices, of which 38 branch offices, 43 sub-branch offices. (hans@theindonesiatoday.com)
