THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON FINANCIAL CRIMINOLOGY 2011
Theme: Islamic Accountability and Fraud Risk Management
Date : 8-9 June 2011
Venue : Kuala Lumpur

The conference will present keynote address and guest lectures by professionals with experiences in investigations, legal aspects, forensic accounting, internal control, audit and commercial crime, with a special track of Islamic aspects. The main theme of the conference is “Islamic Accountability and Fraud Risk Management”. Thus, this conference offers parallel sessions, combining papers by the academics and practitioners, in research, concepts and ideas to promote better insights of theory and practice relating to financial criminology and fraud risk management. The conference will be a platform for a significant discourse for the interaction of ideas and exchange of information among academics and practitioners alike towards managing fraud using Islamic accountability in mitigating the risks of white collar crime across various countries. - Call for Papers

Academics and practitioners from local and various countries are expected to attend the conference.

CALL FOR PAPERS :

Themes for conference papers are encouraged to include Islamic perspectives in the following areas:

1. Forensic Accounting
2. Financial Criminology
3. Fraudulent Financial Reporting
4. Misappropriation of Assets
5. Occupational Fraud
6. Risks in Financial Crime
7. Corporate Risks and Corporate Governance
8. Fraud Investigations and Legal Aspects
White-Collar Crime and Implications to Practice – Human Resource Issues.
9. Computer Forensic
10. Audit and Investigation
11. Organised Trans-National Crime
12. Public Sector and Corruption
13. Tax Fraud and Tax Issues
14. Cybercrime
15. Money Laundering Issues
16. Other interdisciplinary areas relating to the theme of the conference including any Related Research Work.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR PAPER SUBMISSION*
1. Each contributor must submit online a double-spaced copy of the full paper or panel discussion proposal in Microsoft Word for Windows format (Windows 95 or higher is the preferred format). For consistency, use Arial 11-point type font and 1” margins for all top, bottom, left and right margins. The paper should not exceed 20 pages. Please include a cover page indicating the name, title, affiliation, complete postal address, e-mail address, telephone number and fax number of the author(s). On the cover page, please also indicate the general topic of your paper (e.g. Forensic Accounting, Financial Criminology, Financial Statement Fraud, Internal Control, Audit and Investigation), as listed above.

2. For submission of your paper, please email to roszana.tapsir@salam.uitm.edu.my and nurfarra@gmail.com and submit your paper as an attached file no later than 7 March 2011. The paper should not contain any page numbers, headers, and footers.

3. All papers will be subject to a blind review process. The submission of a paper for review means the author(s) certifies that the manuscript is not copyrighted and is not due to be published or has not been published elsewhere. Notification of acceptance will be given by 1 May 2011.

4. Revised full papers will be published in the conference proceedings only if at least one author of the paper registers and attends the conference. Once your paper has been accepted, please submit the revised full paper with a 150-word abstract for publication in the conference proceedings. Please note that your paper will also be considered for publication in a scopus journal Revised full paper acceptance deadline is 15 May 2011.

5. Abstracts in the printed booklet are limited to one page only. The full version of your paper will be published in a CD format only.
