INDONESIA - BANKING - Bank Victoria Mulls 20% Stake Sale to Foreign Investor

www.theindonesiatoday.com - JAKARTA, Indonesia Today - PT Bank Victoria International Tbk (BVIC) plans to sell 15-20% stake to foreign investors for increasing capital, Investor Daily reported this morning.

Andrew A Haswin, alternate president director of Bank Victoria, said some foreign investors including from Europe are interested to buy Bank Victoria's shares. "Growing by organically is the best way to grow faster," he said.
Bank Victoria's shareholders are PT Victoria Sekuritas Masyarakat (35.16%), public (32.56%), Suzanna Tanojo (13.47%), Emirates Tarian Asset Management (9.05%), PT Suryayudha Investindo Cipta (6.4%) and PT Nata Patindo (3.36%).  (source)

INDONESIA - BANKING - MICRO FINANCE: Victoria Sharia achieve a target contribution of 45%

INDONESIA - BANKING - BI Optimistic Sharia Banking Assets Grow 70 Percent in 2012

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Bank Indonesia is optimistic national Islamic banking assets will grow by 70 percent in 2012. The indicators, it is still a lot of banks are opening Islamic services. From recent data, the Islamic banking assets in October 2011 amounting to Rp 127 trillion.

INDONESIA - BANKING - Last year Islamic banking grew 40 %

JAKARTA: Indonesia optimistic about the growth of Bank of the Islamic banking industry in 2012 is still above 40%, although overshadowed by the national economic slowdown caused by the global crisis.
Some factors to driving industry growth is the performance of the newly established Islamic bank in 2010, the birth of new Islamic banks, to the penetration of foreign capital.
Mulya Siregar, Director Islamic Banking Bank Indonesia (BI) is optimistic the industry assets will grow over 40% by looking at the development of a number. Islamic banks which stood since 2010.  (source)

INDONESIA - BANKING - Bank Victoria Syariah Targets Rp 1 T Assets in 2012

JAKARTA (IFT) – PT Bank Victoria Syariah targets a twofold growth in its total assets to Rp 1 trillion by the end of 2012 from Rp 500 billion year-on-year (YOY). To reach the target, the bank will boost its finance portfolio fourfold to Rp 900 billion by the end of 2012 from Rp 200 billion YOY. (source)

INDONESIA - LEASING - Al Ijarah focus on retail

JAKARTA-PT Al-Ijarah Indonesia Finance (ALIF) until the end of this year will focus on retail business instead of financing the corporate sector, because the market is very promising.

President Director of PT ALIF, Herbudhi S Tomo here on Friday said the company originally did business financing to corporations, but the growth is far slower than the retail sector.

INDONESIA - BANKING - Shariah Banks Doing Booming Business

The rapid expansion of Shariah banks in Indonesia paved the way for Shariah loans to increase by almost half in the first six months of the year, Investor Daily reported on Saturday, quoting a central bank director.

Mulya Siregar, director of Shariah banking at Bank Indonesia, said on Friday that Shariah loans rose 49 percent to Rp 83 trillion ($9.8 billion) through June, from the same period last year. He also said the Shariah financing-to-deposit ratio was at 95 percent.  (source)

CAPITAL MARKETS - BANKING - IPO of Victoria Syariah is planned in H2/2012

JAKARTA: PT Bank Victoria Syariah is planning an initial public offering (IPO) by second half of 2012 in attempt to add capital adequacy ratio (CAR). The two-year financing expansion has eroded the bank's CAR.

President Director of Bank Victoria Syariah Sari Idayanti explained that CAr of the private bank now stands at 196%. The high CAR is resulted from the inefficient financing distribution after the spin-off in April 2010. (source)

BANKING - Sharia banks’ assets grow by nearly 45%

The total assets of sharia banks rose by nearly 45 percent during the first nine months of this year after several banks split their shariah banking divisions into separate banks.

Bank Indonesia (BI) director for sharia banking Mulya Siregar said Wednesday that up to September of this year, sharia banking assets reached Rp 85.9 trillion (US$9.6 billion), up 43 percent compared to that recorded in September of last year.
