INDONESIA - BANKING - OJK Commissioners Officially Installed

www.theindonesiatoday.com - JAKARTA (Indonesia Today) - Supreme Court Chief Hatta Ali has sworn in nine commissioners of Financial Services Authority (OJK) Friday (July 20).

They are Muliaman Hadad as OJK chief, Anny Ratnawati as ex-officio from ministry of finance, and Halim Alamsyah as ex-officio commissioner from Bank Indonesia.
Muliaman Hadad was deputy governor of Bank Indonesia, while Anny Ratnawati is vice minister of finance. Halim is still deputy governor of Bank Indonesia.  (source)

www.kontan.co.id - JAKARTA. All members of the Commission XI of the House of Representatives (DPR) has selected unanimously Muliaman D. Hadad as Chairman of the Board of Commissioners the Financial Services Authority (OJK DK). Hadad was elected unanimously by the 52 members of the House Commission XI meeting following the election of a chairman and a member of DK OJK.
A total of nine factions to choose Muliaman D. Hadad is unanimous. "The chairman was chosen by acclamation," said Commission Chairman XI Emir Moeis in front of all trial participants. DK OJK conclave was held closed. Meanwhile, the election of six members of the Security Council OJK still going to vote or voting.  (source)

INDONESIA - EDUCATION - Need remote village of Islamic Economic Education

INDONESIA - BANKING - OJK Must Support the Development of Islamic Financial Institutions

Jakarta (16/12) - Shariah Economic Community (MES) providing advice to the government related to the establishment of the Financial Services Authority (OJK). OJK which will become the regulator for all financial institutions, which included the Islamic Financial Institutions (LKS), need to formulate a pattern of surveillance and the development of worksheets so that it can develop quickly.
 

"In the OJK Law does not mention the Islamic finance industry. We do provide input to the OJK law to give kontibusi in the development of Islamic economics," said Shakir Sula M MES as the Secretary-General told reporters during a press conference to the National Conference of MES-2 in Jakarta, Thursday (15 / 12).  (source)

INDONESIA - GENERAL - Need Sharia Economic Development Acceleration

Jakarta (16/12) - Economic sharia sharia in Indonesia now ranks fourth in the world and predicted the coming 10 years to reach the first position. This is certainly a challenge for all parties involved to make these predictions.

Secretary General of Islamic Economic Society (MES), M Shakir Sula said first position is required to achieve acceleration. Therefore, the MES has created a road map (roadmap) of Islamic finance to support the national target of making Indonesia the Islamic world's economic center. (source)

EDUCATION - CAPITAL MARKETS - 100 Participants Were Attending the Shariah Capital Market

Jakarta (20/12) to encourage public awareness for capital market transactions as one of investment instruments. The  Masyarakat Ekonomi Syariah (MES) has conducted such training for the beginners which participated by 100 individuals.

Capital market is well known as the game for the investors only although not all capital market players is investors. This wrong image is to be changed as explained by Ahmad Iqbal from MES, furthermore Iqbal said that the capital market is belong to all layers in society and it could be beneficial for public at large for business purposes.
