Bank BNI Syariah posted unaudited net profit of Rp52.49 billion in the first half of 2011, compared to loss Rp53.16 billion in the corresponding period of 2010.
The bank said it booked operating income of Rp436.74 billion, of which income from funds distribution accounted for Rp357.37 billion. In H1 of 2010, it booked operating income of Rp42.29 billion with funds distribution totaling Rp38.91 billion. (source)
The bank distributed shared profit of Rp114.54 billion to investors for the period.
As of June 2011, its assets totaled Rp6.62 trillion. The funds deposited in Wadiah scheme instrument total Rp1.045 trillion. The bank distributed loan of Rp1.36 trillion, increased 43.34% while its cheap funds (savings and giro) rose 25.06% to Rp1.07 trillion. ( hans@theindonesiatoday.com)
