JAKARTA
- The potential for Islamic banking financing for property and mining
sectors, especially coal, in Indonesia reached at least Rp 150 trillion
per year. Of that amount, that is realizable still very minimal, less than 5% of them.
In fact, financing risks in property and mining sectors are relatively low. With reference to the ratio of problem loans (non-performing loans / NPL) of conventional banking which is still below 2% for property and 0.46% for the mining, should have ratio of financing problems (non-performing financing / NPF) in Islamic banking is also low. Thus, Islamic banking can be more expansive to channel capital into the property and mining sectors. (source)
