INDONESIA - TAKAFUL - Indonesian revenue to pick up from 2014, says Takaful Malaysia

www.thesundaily.my - KUALA LUMPUR (March 8, 2012): Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Bhd, which is in the process of restructuring its Indonesian operations, expects revenue contribution from there to pick up steam in 2014 or 2015 from the current 5%, and to make up for half of the group's revenue in five years.
It now derives 95% of its revenue from Malaysia.
"The takaful (Islamic insurance) market in Indonesia is large. It's like a time-bomb about to explode. When it grows, it will grow rapidly. We have seen that happen to Islamic banking," Takaful Malaysia group managing director Datuk Mohamed Hassan Kamil told a news conference here yesterday.  (source)

INDONESIA - TAKAFUL - Jiwasraya Postpones Establishment of Islamic Business Unit

INDONESIA - TAKAFUL - Spin Off Push Takaful Company Competitive

WWW.REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - The separation of business units sharia (spin off) at rated insurance company will be a stimulus for the growth of the Takaful industry. Encouragement separation shariah business unit will be included in insurance law.

Vice Chairman of the General Insurance Association of Indonesia Sharia (AASI), Yudha Primary, said the separation of business units in the Islamic insurance companies will encourage the increasingly competitive industry. When it became its own entity, the performance of insurance companies will be more motivated to be commensurate with other companies. (source)

INDONESIA - TAKEFUL - Asuransi Takaful eyes IDR1 trillion premium in 2012

www.bisnis.com - JAKARTA: PT Asuransi Takaful Indonesia eyes IDR1 trillion of premiums next year, or 173.97% higher from the projection for the end of this year at IDR365 billion.
 
In order to achieve the target, the company will add another 4,000 agents, bringing the total of 10,000 agents, Asuransi Takaful Indonesia Operational Director Ronny Achmad Iskandar said.
 
Currently, Takaful owns 5,700 agents with active ratio level reaches 25%.  (source)
