the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), indicating a growing interest in the
halal product business in Indonesia, said an Indonesian Chamber of
Commerce and Industry (Kadin) executive on Tuesday.
“It is a good sign that Muslims in Indonesia can consume more
imported products, which are safe and in compliance with the Islamic
law,” said the Institute for Economic Study, Research and Development

INDONESIA - HALAL - RI`s halal food exports increasing
www.antaranews.com - Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Export of halal Indonesian food commodities to many Muslim and non-Muslim countries such as Japan, China and Singapore has increased.
According to Trade Ministry data, halal Indonesian food exports to Japan was up 25 percent, to China and Singapore 23 percent higher. (source)

MALAYSIA - HALAL - Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre kitchens (finally) certified halal
halalmedia.my - The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre have announced that all its kitchens – Chinese, Western, Cold, Pastry and Malay – have been certified halal by Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia (JAKIM).
The choice venue of at least three annual Halal events since 2007 – the World Halal Forum, the World Halal Research Summit and the International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) – the Centre confirms that every item, ingredient, manufacturer, supplier, process and procedure has been audited by JAKIM and certified halal.
Based on the Malaysian Standards (MS1500:2009), the Centre has complied with all stringent procedures and detailed analysis related to the halal process and that JAKIM has conducted a physical site inspection of the Centre’s storage area, cold room, process plant and handling aspects during production and packaging, general hygiene, quality control and assurance practices. INDONESIA - HALAL - MUI remains alert amid China’s barrage of halal products
The Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) has confirmed a dramatic rise in
the number of halal food products coming in from China, but remained
skeptical over that country’s developing halal industry.
“The
number of halal products from China has increased by 50 to 100 percent
since last year,” the MUI’s Food and Drug Analysis Agency (LPPOM) chief

INDONESIA - EVENTS - IHBF Indonesia Halal Business & Food Expo
2nd IHBF. Indonesia is a country where most of the population are Moslem. In 2010, Performax in cooperation with LPPOM MUI held 1st Halal Business and Food Expo in Jakarta (IHBF Expo). We received some feedbacks from various parties, so that this event should not only related to halal food issue, but would be much better if it can link to all aspects of Islamic business in Indonesia.
To that end, in August 12-14, 2011 we will host "Indonesia Halal Business and Food Expo" (IHBF Expo), the theme of "Halal Values In All Aspects of Business". Performax cooperation with the Economic Community of Sharia (MES) and is supported by several Islamic institutions such as the Association of Indonesian Muslim Intellectuals (ICMI), Paramadina Foundation, the National Agency for Amil Zakat, the Ministry of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises, Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia.
This year, we will feature a variety of institutions and Islamic Institutions, such as Government, Education, State Own Company, Private Company, Publishing, Objects of Islamic art, Insurance and Islamic Financial Institutions, Fashion Industries and Halal Food as well as Islamic culture festival.
