Jakarta, (15/06). Indonesia as the agriculture country has a great potential in strengthening its economic development program for agriculture sector. However, currently this opportunity has not been utilized for Islamic banking system for agriculture financing.
Irfan Syauqi B the economic observer from Institut Pertanian Bogor said that the agriculture financing is not optimum provided by our Islamic banking system, it has to be increased as in line with the increment of the deposits.
“I could see that the increment of deposit is not in line with the increment of agriculture financing,” said Irfan.
Furthermore he said the lack of agriculture financing provided by Islamic banking is because our Islamic bankers have not understand the potential business opportunity in agricultural sector and the government should encourage Islamic banking to provide agriculture financing.
