BANKING - Bank Muamalat Indonesia net profit increased 152%

Jakarta, (10/11). Bank Muamalat Indonesia (BMI)  performance keeps improving with positive growth toward end of 2010, this is shown on the third quarter that the profit has increased 152 % , IDR 139.793 billion compare to the previous year IDR 55.304 billion.


Compliance Director of Bank Muamalat Indonesia, Andi Buchari said the this profit increment is influenced by the income from financing which has been distributed for IDR 13.770 trillion, compare to the previous year, IDR 11.282 trillion.

For year on year,  Andi said that BMI assets has been increased  20,21% from IDR 14,74 trillion to IDR 17,72 trillion. While Deposits increased from IDR 12,17 trillion to IDR 13,85 trillion.

“We expected that deposits keep on increasing in line with our expansion for customer’s accessibility with our 330 branch offices including Kuala Lumpur branch,” explained Andi.

In financing Andi elaborated that the Kuala Lumpur has contributed great amount of revenue from financing, which recently has been given murabaha financing  for US$ 14 million to PT TH Indo Plantation, a subsidiary of Tabung Haji Malaysia,” exclaimed Andi. (Agus Y/Nibra)
