INDONESIA - BANKING - BNI Syariah Hasanah Card Exceeds Target

WWW.REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Card Issuance Hasanah Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) Syariah over the target. Until the first half, BNI Syariah have issued 92 thousand cards with outstanding Hasanah Rp 194 billion.
"Exceeding the target company is only 90 thousand cardholders," said Director of Business BNI Syariah, Imam Teguh Saptono, Milad between the two BNI Syariah in the East Plaza Senayan on Sunday (24/6).
Imam said the increase is due to the card holder many types of promos are offered to customers of the cardholder. Besides can be used for groceries, Hasanah cards can also be used to finance the franchise and umra.  (source)

INDONESIA - BANKING - QNB Kesawan credit card launched in December 2012

www.bisnis.com - JAKARTA: PT Bank QNB Kesawan Tbk optimistic to launch credit card services by the end of this year.

Director of QNB Bank Kesawan Madi D. Blue revealed the issuance of a credit card service is scheduled to hold a Visa.

"We are just waiting for approval from the BI. Expected to be rolled in December this year because it was included in the RBB in 2012. I'll probably hold a Visa or Mastercard, but it seems likely to Visa," he said, May 29, 2012.  (source)

MALAYSIA - BANKING - Maybank Islamic unveils card for the affluent

www.btimes.com.my - KUALA LUMPUR: Maybank Islamic Bhd has unveiled Maybank Islamic Ikhwan Visa Infinite, a card that it claims offers the best one-for-one privileges from flight tickets, dining to golf.

The card, launched at the World Halal Research Summit last week, is for the affluent market of 35-years-old and above with an income of RM240,000 a year.

Maybank Islamic chief executive officer Muzaffar Hisham said the launch is in line with the bank's commitment to empower card members with its suite of privileges that extend from luxury travel to fine dining. (source)

INDONESIA - BANKING - Bank Indonesia Sets New Rules On Credit Cards

People seeking credit cards will face stricter controls and banks will face a limit on the charges they can levy under regulatory changes spelled out on Monday by Bank Indonesia.

INDONESIA - BANKING - BNI Syariah Hasanah Card Target Reached USD 278 M in 2012

Jakarta (27/12) - Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) Syariah target in 2012, outstanding card Hasanah reached Rp 278 billion. INDONESIA - REGULATIONS - Credit card interest rate and fee must be detailed: BI

JAKARTA: Bank Indonesia requires credit card providers to be transparent in setting interest rate and charging fee to customers, following complaints from cardholders.

The revised regulation on payment using card states that providers must give clear details on interest rate and fee charged to customers in credit card application.

“Credit card providers must give explanation on interest rate and fee that is easy to understand for their customers. They should give explanation using diagram if necessary,” said Bank Indonesia Director of Accounting and Payment System Ronald Waas. (source)

INDONESIA - REGULATIONS - Oops .. Credit Card Restricted

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Customer's credit card on the ground tar seems to be preparing to close the credit card. If it does not have a sufficient requirement to have this card. INDONESIA - BANKING - BNI Syariah Transaction Card Hasanah Jumped 35 Percent

INDONESIA - BANKING - Muamalat Launches Shar-e Gold Debit

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - PT Bank Muamalat Indonesia officially launched the Shar-e Gold Debit, the first Islamic debit card chip technology. Director of Retail Muamalat Adrian A Gunadi optimistic claims this product will increase the retail savings by 25 percent or Rp 1 trillion by the end of 2011.

INDONESIA - BANKING - Bank Muamalat issues new credit card

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MEDAN - PT Bank Muamalat Indonesia issued a new debit card in order to boost savings products. The card is named Share Debit Gold is expected to contribute up to 20 percent of retail growth, or about Rp 1 trillion to 300 thousand cardholders in 2012. (source)

FINANCE - Revised Regulation on Credit Cards Out by Next Month

JAKARTA (IFT) - Bank Indonesia targets to finish the revised Regulation of Bank Indonesia No 11/11/PBI/2009 on Card Payment Management in May, at the latest. The Central Bank is currently waiting for inputs from the Association of Indonesian Credit Cards. “The regulation will be more detailed and strict so that people will see credit cards as a debt instrument, instead of a payment tool,” said Darmin Nasution, Governor of Bank Indonesia.(full story)

FINANCE - BRUNEI - Have a brighter future without debt

THE Ministry of Finance's (MoF) regulations on credit card which were implemented in July, are definitely giving Brunei a rosier future as the government "nips the situation in the bud". This statement came from Tareq Muhmood, chief executive officer of HSBC Brunei. He said that although the regulations are harsh, their intentions are good and (the regulations) will put the Sultanate in "very strong" positions in three years time.
