INDONESIA - BANKING - US$330m BDSN loan boosts Maybank's reach

THE Maybank Group has concluded the syndication of a US$330.6 million (RM1 billion) term facility for Indonesia's PT Bajradaya Sentranusa (BDSN).

The 10-year facility is segregated into dual-currency conventional tranches of US$187.5 million (RM570 million) and 400 billion rupiah (RM126 million) as well as US$100 million (RM304 million) in an Islamic tranche.

Proceeds will be used to take over the entire existing project loans for the construction of the 2x90 megawatt Asahan 1 Hydroelectric Power Plant (Asahan 1 Hydroplant) located in North Sumatra, Indonesia, said Maybank in a statement yesterday .  (source)

www.brecorder.com - KUALA LUMPUR: Indonesian power firm PT Bajradaya Sentranusa (BDSN) has obtained a $330.6 million syndicated term facility issued by subsidiaries of Malaysia's Maybank.
Maybank said in a statement on Monday its units PT Bank Internasional Indonesia Tbk (BII), Maybank Investment Bank Berhad and PT Bank Maybank Syariah Indonesia (MSI) were the joint mandated lead arrangers and bookrunners. (source)

INDONESIA - AWARDS - IFN Deals of the Year 2011

Commodity Murabaha USD 183 million - TH Indo Plantations Tawarruq applied to refinance shareholder advances from Tabung Haji. The cross-border transaction involves funding properties in Indonesia and addressing local regulations and language requirements.

Trade Finance : Natrindo Telepon Selular (Axis Indonesia) Financing : The winner is the complex and well structured Natrindo Telepon Selular (Axis Indonesia). This was the largest private sector financing in Indonesia in 2011 and first Islamic financing involving China Development Bank supporting the procurement of product and civil works services from Huawei Technologies Company for USD 400 million. The deal also included a USD 450 million syndicated Murabaha and a USD 350 million equipment purchase from Ericsson funded by AB Svensk Eksportkredit and backed by EKN Sweden's export credit agency. The transaction also included a political risk guarantee from the World Bank Groups' Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency.

INDONESIA - FINANCE - ICD poised to boost activity with SR1 billion SME fund - Indonesia gets attention

In the wake of the impact of the continuing global financial crisis, the euro zone debt crisis and the so-called Arab Spring - and their economic impact on global and regional markets including member countries of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), the Jeddah-based Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD), the private sector funding arm of the IDB Group, is embarking on a new strategy to take its financing directly to its constituencies and to make its financing impact more on the real economy through the generation of employment and promoting growth. This includes opening regional offices; setting up two new departments at the ICD; launching more Ijara (leasing companies) in diverse markets such as Albania, Saudi Arabia and Algeria; establishing SME investment funds including a SR1 billion fund for Saudi Arabia; and establishing a mortgage finance company in Saudi Arabia in anticipation of the long-awaited mortgage law. INDONESIA - FINANCE - Mandala Multifinance Obtains $ 25 Million Murabaha Syndicated Loan Credit

JAKARTA - PT Mandala Multifinance Tbk (MFIN) gain in the form of murabaha syndicated loan of U.S. $ 25 million or about Rp214, 225 billion on 14 November 2011.

According to the Corporate Secretary MFIN Mahrus in a statement here on Tuesday, in the form of murabaha facility is derived from several financial institutions. (source)
