BANDUNG: Masalah yang kerap membatasi ruang gerak perbankan syariah adalah keterbatasan sumber daya manusia dan variasi produk.

Hal tersebut disampaikan oleh Direktur Eksekutif Perbankan Syariah Bank Indonesia Edy Setiadi saat jumpa pers dalam The 2nd Bank Indonesia International Seminar on Islamic Finance, hari ini Selasa 8 Mei 2012.

Berdasarkan pengamatannya, operasional bisnis perbankan berbasis syariah belum sepenuhnya dikelola oleh sumber daya manusia (SDM) dengan latar pendidikan ekonomi syariah.

Faktanya, SDM perbankan konvensional ditransfer ke sektor perbankan syariah dan diikutsertakan dalam pelatihan.

"Kami terus melakukan kerja sama dengan perguruan tinggi dalam mencetak SDM yang potensial untuk perbankan syariah, menerbitkan buku-buku, dan menggandeng asosiasi," katanya.

Dia menambahkan BI juga melakukan sosialisasi kepada pelaku perbankan syariah untuk merekrut pegawai yang berlatar pendidikan ekonomi syariah.

Tetapi, lanjutnya, ada satu tantangan yang tidak luput dihadapi oleh perbankan syariah terkait dengan latar pendidikan SDM.

Oleh karena perbankan syariah membidik pelaku usaha mikro, kecil, dan menengah (UMKM), terjadi perdebatan apakah SDM harus lulusan Strata I (SI) atau Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA).

"Hal ini yang masih kami diskusikan dengan para pelaku perbankan syariah karena tujuannya efisiensi," katanya.

Dari sisi produk perbankan syariah, BI membentuk tim pengembangan produk guna menghasilkan produk perbankan syariah yang variatif dan inovatif.

Selain itu, BI menggandeng Ikatan Akuntan Indonesia (IAI) dalam menyusun standar akuntansi produk perbankan syariah, bersama dengan Dewan Syariah Nasional (DSN).(EDW)
