INDONESIA - EDUCATION - Islamic Banking is still difficulty HR

www.investor.co.id - JAKARTA - Islamic banks face challenges in order to grow, especially in human resource difficulties.
"The market share of Islamic banks in Indonesia is still small, amounting to about 4 percent. Problem, our network is not as much as a conventional bank and available human resources is still very little," said Director of Business BNI Syariah Bambang Widjanarko here on Thursday.
Difficulty in meeting the HR needs of Islamic banks is also highlighted by the Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia Halim Alamsyah in the opening of a national consensus Indonesia Sharia Bank Association on Wednesday (21/3).  (source)

INDONESIA - BANKING - 7 Islamic Banks cooperate with Muhammadiyah

Jakarta (15/12) - A total of seven Islamic banks today conduct a joint collaboration with Muhammadiyah in terms of cash management. These banks are Bank Syariah Bukopin (BSB), Bank Syariah Mandiri (BSM), Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) Syariah, Negar Savings Bank (BTN) Sharia, Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) Sharia, Bank Muamalat Indonesia (BMI), and Bank Danamon Syariah.
Cooperation itself is set forth in the joint signing of a memorandum of understanding that made the Chairman of Muhammadiyah, Din Syamsudin with representatives of each Islamic bank at the House of Muhammadiyah Jakarta, Thursday (15/12).  (source)

INDONESIA - BANKING - BNI Syariah Target Deposits Up 30%

JAKARTA - Bank BNI Syariah target increase assets and financing (credit) of approximately 30% in 2012 thanks to rising third-party funds (DPK).
"As of November is our asset Rp7, 8 trillion, next year we are targeting increased to 30% or approximately reached Rp10 trillion," said Director of Business BNI Syariah Widjarnako Bambang said after signing a memorandum of understanding between the seven PP Muhammadiyah Islamic banks in the office Muhammadiyah central Jakarta on Thursday.  (source)

ZAKAT - Indonesia's Zakat Body To Provide Million Dollars Worth Of Relief Items To Flood Affectees

Islamabad , The National Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) of Indonesia launched its "Indonesia Cares for Pakistan" project envisaging immediate dispatch of medical and logistics support teams to Pakistan to take part in relief and aid efforts, says a press release received here Monday from Jakarta, Indonesia.

The Chairman of the National Zakat body, Prof. Dr. Didin Hafidhuddin along with Ambassador Sanaullah made announcements to this effect at a news conference here Sunday. A short documentary on flood situation in Pakistan preceded the press talk. The special teams, nine in all, would be arriving in Pakistan starting next week and also disburse among the flood affected, relief goods, food items, medicines and other necessities worth an estimated one million dollars, Hafidhuddin mentioned.
