INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON ISLAMIC CAPITAL MARKET IN 2012
"Toward Resilient, Robust, and Competitive Islamic Capital Markets"

I. International Conference on Islamic Capital MarketA. International
Conference on Islamic Capital Market in 2012 was held in cooperation
between the Capital Market Supervisory Agency and Financial Institution
Supervisory Agency (Bapepam-LK) by the Islamic Research and Training
Institute, Islamic Development Bank (IDB-IRTI).
2. The
purpose of this conference is to learn more Islamic capital market role
in the Islamic financial system and how it impacts on the increased
investment, market stability, and an equitable socio-economic
development.
3. In
addition, the conference is to be one potential means to introduce
Islamic capital market in Indonesia to the international community in
developing and strengthening relations between the Islamic capital
market regulator Bapepam-LK as with other state regulators and market
participants
4. Furthermore,
the main focus of this conference is to discuss current matters
relating to Development and prospect; Market Reform and Infrastructure
Development: Regulatory aspect of Islamic capital markets; and Strategy
for development of capital market products for public sector financing. The discussion will be divided into two main parts, namely the panel discussions and paper presentations.BAPEPAM-LK (source)

INDONESIA - HALAL - INDHEX 2012 Indonesia Halal Expo (July 5-8, 2012 Jakarta)
With the theme "Halal is My Life", INDHEX 2012 will be held on June 5 to July 8, 2012 at Exhibition Hall SMESCO Building, Jakarta. In addition to disseminating and promoting halal products, the expo will also be held lawful business meeting of producers, suppliers and distributors of halal (Halal Bussiness Forum), a variety of seminars, workshops and competitions themed halal products will also enliven INDHEX 2012.
INDHEX 2011 was held on 24-26 June 2011 at the House SMESCO Jakarta, attended by 128 companies from within and outside the country dg 8316 the number of visitors.

The growth potential for Indonesia's Islamic finance industry is enormous, and coupled with a steadily growing economy, financial reforms and stricter anti-corruption laws, the republic is set to stake its claim as a financial powerhouse in Asia. With support from the Indonesian government, financial regulators and the central bank, Indonesia is poised to become the next hub for Islamic finance in Asia and on a global scale.
In light of these developments, REDmoney Group will host the first Islamic Finance news Indonesia Forum 2012 on the 16th and 17th April at the Hotel Mulia Senayan in Jakarta.
The two-day event will feature an Issuers Day, Investors Day, and Takaful and re-Takaful Day and see the movers and shakers of the Islamic finance industry gather to discuss the most current and relevant issues within the Indonesian Islamic financial markets. Amongst those who will be speaking at the IFN Indonesia 2012 Forum include: Dahlan Siamat - Director Islamic Financing Policy, Ministry of Finance Indonesia, Edy Setiadi - Director of Islamic Banking, Bank Indonesia, Yudha Pratama - President Director, PT Jaya Proteksi Takaful, Albert Wiseman Paterson - President Director, PT Sun Life Financial Indonesia, Neil Miller- Global Head Islamic finance, KPMG Dubai and Riawan Amin- Chairman, Indonesian Islamic Banking Association.
With 389 delegates already confirmed, it is still not too late to be part of this fully-interactive event covering the most pertinent topics in Indonesia's Islamic finance landscape.

INDONESIA - BANKING - BNI Syariah To Add Three Branch In Jaksel
JAKARTA: PT Bank Negara Indonesia's Shariah branch will open three assistants in the South Jakarta area this year, employment closer to our customers.
Bambang Widjanarko, Director of Syariah Business Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI Syariah), says the three branches assistants (KCP) will be located in the vicinity Cilandak, Chief Polim and Sunday Market.
The opening of the three KCP is part of the company plans to open 105 outlets in the new branches throughout Indonesia for a year. (source)

INDONESIA - EVENTS - High level conference - VP : Sukuk balances global portfolio flows
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Vice President Boediono said the sukuk (bonds / Islamic bonds) to balance the flow of global portfolio funds into Indonesia and became an alternative source of funding for infrastructure development in Indonesia. "For Indonesia, the global sukuk market has become an alternative source of funding for infrastructure and other investments. Simultaneously sukuk market was used as a counterweight to global portfolio flows into Indonesia," said vice president at the Joint High Level Conference On Islamic Finance in Jakarta Monday.
According to Vice President, sukuk continues to experience significant development in various countries, not only in Islamic countries. Even China has also begun to pay serious attention to the development of the global sukuk market. (source)

Jakarta (17 / 7). Although it's too late, finally the organization of Islamic finance experts who are members of the Association of Indonesian Islamic Economics (IAEI) will host the 2nd Conference in Jakarta on July 30, 2011.
Secretary General of the IAEI, IAEI Agustianto said that the conference aims to choose a new chairman and board in the period 2011 to 2015. With the new management, the Agustianto hope that the organization can freely IAEI in developing Islamic financial services. (source)

Joint Conference on Islamic Finance, 18-19 July 2011, Jakarta
Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) and Bank Indonesia (BI) is organising a joint conference on Islamic Finance entitled “Enhancing Financial Linkages towards Economic Prosperity” to be held in Jakarta, Indonesia on18 July 2011 at Shangri-La Hotel. HRH Raja Nazrin Shah, the MIFC Financial Ambassador; Dr. Zeti Akhtar Aziz, Governor, BNM; Darmin Nasution, Governor, BI and industry leaders in the financial sectors of both countries will be speaking at the event. The conference acts as a discussion platform to explore opportunities to further enhance two-way investments between Indonesia and Malaysia; and towards strengthening linkages between its Islamic financial markets.
In conjunction with the conference, three workshops will take place on 19 July 2011. These workshops discuss opportunities for strengthening cross-border liquidity management, product development and innovation; and creating an enabling environment for Islamic finance.

BANKING - BNI Intends to Cooperate with Korea's Hanwha Group (BNI Syariah)
Theindonesiatoday.com - PT Bank Negara Indonesia Tbk (BBNI) intends to propose a strategic cooperation with Hanwha Group, a business conglomerate from South Korea, Investor Daily reported this morning.

Kuala Lumpur (ANTARA News) - Jakarta will host the Third Muslim World Biz, the largest business exhibition of Muslim countries, in 2012.
"Tomorrow, Kadin (Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry) and OIC (Organization of the Islamic Conference) will sign documents on the staging of the Third Muslim World Biz expo in Jakarta in 2012," Eddy Kuntadi, chairman of Kadin`s Jakarta chapter, said here Wednesday.
